What changes can I make in my lifestyle?
Have you done all that you can to avoid another stroke? I have asked myself this question? I have an aneurysm in my artery to my brain. That’s where I formed the clots that broke off and caused the strokes.
We have gone through all the stress and troubles that a stroke caused us. Like me, you don’t want to dance with the lucky lady (or man). I bet you do not want to take the chance of dying from your second stroke.
To make changes that lower your risk and make you live longer, you must address any of the following:
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes and associated high blood sugar
- Smoking
- Obesity
- Atrial fibrillation
There are many other actions that reduce the risk of you having a second stroke. You have heard them before, but I am going to repeat them. Change your food plan that is more like “Mediterranean” foods. You must take your stroke medications. Last, you must move every day. Maybe it means an exercise plan that has at least 30 minutes, three times a week. If you do these steps to positively affect your lifestyle, you’ll be healthier and lower of risk of another stroke!
